Here at kSoft, we recommend doing a daily backup of your Term Loan Manager (TLM) software!
A daily backup of the TLM software will not only create a restoration file for your client database but will also restore your internal software settings. It is a great relief to be able to restore a client database, but being able to restore the internal settings will be an even greater relief. Internal settings that can be restored include security groups and configurations, user names and passwords, loan setups and configurations, and many more. Those few settings alone can save you precious time when you are trying to get back up and running after a computer or server crash.
A daily on-site backup is good practice but doing an offsite back up at the same time is an even better practice. Should you have the misfortune of losing your in-house server or backup computer you could be scrambling to rebuild a new database from scratch or remember what your software configurations were. Doing an offsite backup to our remote server is as easy as clicking "yes" to the offsite backup option at the end of your local backup, once there the user name and password are AAA, enter your branch location, then simply click the "Start Upload" button. Those two simple steps create a secondary backup file on our secure remote server and peace of mind knowing that you can be up and running again in a very short time.
Taking a few minutes to do a software backup can save you the hours it will take to start from over from scratch. Get in the routine of doing your daily backups today; you never know when you may have a computer or server crash.
